Map of Second Renaissance Changemaking Ecosystem

What does the “Second Renaissance” ecosystem of change agents look like? Who are some of the leading individuals and organisations? What clusters or communities are there?

For several years, we’ve been mapping the emerging ecosystem of actors who are recognising the need for both inner change (of worldviews, values, etc.) and outer change (of institutions, policies, technology, etc.) in order to catalyse a social paradigm shift.

Drawing on our knowledge from this research, we’ve created a first-pass impressionistic map of the ecosystem. It’s by no means perfect — and one possible representation of many. However, we hope that this helps to make the field more visible and accessible and serves as a stimulus for fruitful conversation. Read more here:

Map of Second Renaissance Changemaking Ecosystem
This is a first pass on an impressionistic map of the second renaissance "paradigmatic changemakers" ecosystem. It shows some of the different communities, movements and spaces (primarily in the Global North) that aspire to and/or act to foster paradigmatic change with a…

Crowdsourcing Suggestions of Transformative Social Change Organisations

We're expanding a database of organisations and initiatives who are working for social change that is:

  • paradigmatic (or metacrisis-aware), i.e. seeking a transformation of social paradigm, not just incremental reform of existing systems, and

  • inner-led, i.e. integrating the need for "inner" change of (individual and collective) worldviews, values, belief systems, and consciousness – as well as “outer” change of economic, political, and technological infrastructures and policies etc.

We'll use the database to create a user-friendly directory and visual maps.

Please fill in this form to suggest organisations you think we should consider including 🙏

Join the Emerge Ukraine Pilgrimage, Sept 25-29

In September 2019, the Emerge network gathered for the first time in Kyiv, uniting luminaries from diverse fields such as the arts, media, technology, inner development, politics, and spirituality. This gathering celebrated the emergence of Ukraine's open society. Now, exactly five years later, Emerge returns to collaborate with The New Thinking School, a global hub of the Inner Development Goals, and members of the Ukrainian Integral community. Together, they aim to sense what is emerging in this pivotal moment.

Ukraine has become the frontline for the future of open societies, both literally and metaphorically. Emerge returns because of the urgent need to imagine the world that's emerging, both within Ukraine and beyond its borders. The strength of free and open societies worldwide is crucial for a desirable future. Ukrainian society has valuable lessons to share on resilience, adaptation, building trust networks, and defending what truly matters.

This gathering is called a pilgrimage because it is a transformative journey, not a mere tourist experience. Over the course of five days, participants will visit sites of historical significance and witness the recent scars left by the current war.

The not-for-profit event aims to bring together 120 international participants and local members of the Ukrainian integral community.

More information and tickets can be found here. For a personal reply to any questions get in touch with Emerge at hello@whatisemerging.com.

On July 10th at 5PM CET the organizing team will host a Q&A / meet and greet on Zoom. You can join using this Link.

Food Praxis
What is food ? I wonder why it seems difficult to have a collective conversation about food that goes beyond diet, agriculture or climate damages. It seems as if we are not equipped to talk collectively about something that goes beyond what we perceive as food…
